According to the latest industry data from the China Machine Tool Industry Association, the scale of the domestic machine tool casting market has grown steadily. Heavy CNC machine tools, stone deep processing equipment, and wind power machining machines have driven a surge in demand for large bed castings of more than 5 tons per piece, and the market share has climbed to 38.2%.
Downstream market demand is undergoing structural changes: earlier, complete machine manufacturers gave priority to reducing procurement costs when purchasing castings; now, OEMs place more emphasis on the material stability, deformation rate, shock absorption and damping performance, and delivery cycle controllability of castings.
The stone CNC engraving machine industry has particularly stringent conditions for castings. The stone cutting process involves large impacts and vibrations, and inferior machine bed castings are prone to excessive vibrations, jittering engraving patterns, and deviations in accuracy within one year of equipment use. Therefore, the vast majority of stone equipment manufacturers regularly purchase HT300 high-rigidity gray iron bed castings.
Industry trends show that the use of ductile iron castings in spindle boxes, movable rams and other parts that require impact resistance is rising rapidly; composite aging stress relief technology, digital flaw detection and full file traceability of casting parameters will become a hard threshold for foundry manufacturers. The foundry industry cluster is eliminating small workshop-style factories. Source factories with full-process finishing capabilities will firmly occupy the high-end equipment supporting market.
